Little Cathedral

Little Cathedral

A Creative, Dynamic, and Happy Preschool!

Little Cathedral begins at age two and concludes at age five, a stage during which knowledge is developed through the Play-Work methodology and Project-Based Learning (PBL). These teaching strategies allow children to acquire various types of knowledge in a natural, fun, and collaborative way, within a warm and trusting environment that encourages active participation, while respecting the key pedagogical principles of this stage:

From this perspective, we view education as a continuous process in which the learning experiences gained in preschool “through play, emotional bonds, and exploration” lay the foundation for the child’s holistic development, progressively strengthening their learning, autonomy, and personal growth throughout elementary, middle, and high school.

We help young children develop in the following areas:

Language and Communication

We develop communication skills through experiences that encourage listening, dialogue, and self-expression.
It includes oral expression, comprehension of messages, an introduction to reading and writing, and vocabulary building through stories, songs, role-playing, and guided conversations.

Physical and Motor Development

We promote coordination, balance, and body control through activities that strengthen both gross and fine motor skills.
It includes psychomotor activities, movement exercises, swimming, and cooperative games that help children develop independence and physical confidence.

Social-Emotional Development

We support emotional and social growth by encouraging children to recognize, regulate, and appropriately express their emotions.
We foster healthy relationships, teamwork, personal autonomy, self-esteem, a sense of identity, and harmonious interactions with peers and adults.

Cognitive Development

We foster logical thinking, curiosity, and the ability to explore and solve problems.
It includes activities involving classification, sequencing, basic mathematical concepts, scientific inquiry, and hands-on experiments that reinforce the cause-and-effect relationship.

Artistic Expression and Creativity

We foster imagination and self-expression through artistic experiences that integrate different sensory languages.
It includes visual arts, music, dance, and physical expression to develop aesthetic sensitivity, coordination, rhythm, and emotional communication.

Understanding the Environment

We invite you to discover and understand the world through observation, inquiry, and exploratory projects
It includes exploring the natural and social environments, learning about elements of the community, and transdisciplinary projects that inspire curiosity and critical thinking.

Our academic program is based on The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool, An internationally recognized approach that guides teachers in planning meaningful and engaging experiences for children in the classroom. This curriculum provides content, strategies, and tools that address each child’s individual needs, promoting learning through research and active inquiry. Our approach encourages students to observe, ask questions, experiment, formulate hypotheses, and construct their own meanings, thereby strengthening their holistic development and natural curiosity. Thanks to its transdisciplinary structure, it encompasses all areas of learning and promotes critical thinking, active exploration, creativity, and a love of learning.

Little Playhouse

This is Little Cathedral’s afternoon program, designed especially for children ages 2 to 6, in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where play becomes an experience of learning and well-being.

In the afternoon, the children participate in playful, creative, and sensory activities that support their holistic development, while respecting their individual pace, interests, and needs typical of early childhood. The program combines periods of free play, artistic expression, sports,
movimiento, descanso guiado y socialización.

Little Playhouse fosters essential skills such as independence, social interaction, communication, and emotional self-regulation, building each child’s confidence and sense of security, always with the support of trained staff committed to early childhood care and education.

This space is designed so that young children can continue their day in a calm, joyful, and supportive environment, while families have the peace of mind that comes from knowing their children are well cared for and stimulated.
