Eco School 2025 – Taking Action for the Environment and the Planet

As an Eco-Schools-accredited institution, we at CIS reaffirmed our commitment to environmental education and sustainable action this year. Each year, we are provided with a comprehensive program that challenges us not only to learn about environmental issues but also to take action and assume our responsibility as global citizens.

To wrap up this school year’s program, our middle school students participated in a cleanup day at Güibia Beach, collecting trash especially plastic and helping to restore a natural space. This initiative had a direct impact on reducing pollution and protecting marine life, while also reinforcing in them the value of environmental stewardship from a local and mindful perspective.

In addition, Eco School representatives from 2nd grade onward members of the Student Council visited the Blanck Foundation, where they delivered food and supplies for stray dogs and cats. They also learned about respect for animal life and the importance of adoption as an act of responsibility and empathy.

This final experience was not just a program wrap-up, but an opportunity to learn through hands-on action, to make a difference, and to understand that caring for the planet also means caring for the living beings that inhabit it. At CIS, we take pride in educating students who are not only academically capable but also socially and environmentally conscious. The planet needs advocates, and we are helping to train them every day.
